Introducing: Essntl Brand Support, an initiative to promote BIPOC entrepreneurs in NYC

This initiative has been developed over the course of the last two weeks, as protests have spread across the nation and the world, demanding justice and change following the killing of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis PD.
We want to be a positive force for change and use our strengths to not only promote equal opportunities but also offer tangible support through real action. We need to look to the future and strive to bring the potential of good into reality, not just for today but in a way that lasts over time.
Essntl Brand Support
Developing Herb Essntls from idea to business has been challenging and an adventure. Our brand’s foundation is predicated on creativity and we have made it our central focus to highlight New York City artists, designers and entrepreneurs since our inception.
Today, we are introducing Essntl Brand Support — A program where our founders and staff will donate our time, expertise and experience to help support New York City based BIPOC (or BIPOC with entrepreneurial dreams and ambitions) achieve their goals such as:
- Turning an idea into a brand and a business
- Expanding a budding brand from inception through brand development
- Taking a growing business to the next level through investment
We pledge to donate at least (but definitely not limited to) $100,000 worth of start-up and business advice across the following areas: brand strategy and development, process development, financial planning, investor relationships, product and creative development.

Herb Essntls is a NYC-based Cannabis infused beauty and lifestyle brand founded in 2015. Starting as a creative side-project that was soft launched in select retail stores in 2017, Herb Essntls has over the past years developed into a full-time business and closed a Series-A investment round in September 2019.
You do not have to be in the Cannabis, beauty or skincare industry to reach out. We have advised and worked with several different startups and companies across many different industries.
About the founders
The founders of Herb Essnlts have over 25 years of combined experience in Brand Strategy, Brand Design, and Market Communications. Working on all levels with brands and companies including, but not limited to: Unicef, Adidas, IKEA, Chevrolet, Uniqlo, Public Service Broadcasting companies, Tidal, MasterCard, Roc Nation, HBO, MTV, and Reebok.
Over the last 5 years (aside from running and developing Herb Essntls) the founders have also functioned as advisors to start-ups and investors.
